What do I need to bring to the course?
The course fee covers everything needed for the day—except food. Participants only need to ensure they wear appropriate clothing. Clothes should be resistant to sparks and dirt. Safety shoes and work pants are recommended.
A work jacket, welding helmet, welding gloves, as well as eye and ear protection, will be provided during the course. You’re welcome to bring your own protective gear if you prefer.

Is hot work licence required?
If you’re attending the course in Vantaa, you must have a valid hot work permit. This will be checked before the course - for insurance reasons it’s mandatory.
If the course is held at your own location, you are responsible for ensuring that you and your employees have the required hot work qualifications. The course instructor and staff always have valid hot work permits and necessary insurance.
If you don’t have a hot work permit, you can check available courses at spek.fi or alertum.fi These courses are frequently available, typically cost between €100-200, and can be completed in a single day. In Finland, a hot work permit is practically required for any work involving heat or sparks.
Do I need any prior experience to join?
No previous welding experience is required. However, a general understanding of basic tools and hands-on work is beneficial. So far, some of the biggest progress has been made by participants from completely different fields, such as a carpenter and a technical sales representative. Attendees have ranged from 17 to 55 years old, coming from all kinds of backgrounds. The most important qualities? Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
I don't understand the course options, explain better!
- All course options cover the same core content: Basic.
- When you upgrade from Basic to Basic Plus, the core course remains the same, but you get extra lessons (thin sheets, repair welding), printed or PDF welding guidebook, phone support after the course. Think of it like buying a car but adding extra features.
- If you go even further and upgrade to Premium, the extras will just grow: A complete welding equipment package to take home (including a high-quality welding machine, safety gear, and accessories).
If you're attending a course in Vantaa, you can choose any of the three options: Basic, Basic Plus, or Premium. The day starts the same for everyone. Once the Basic course content is completed, Basic Plus and Premium participants stay for additional lessons. After the extra lessons, Basic Plus and Premium attendees receive their booklets and contact info for future support. Premium participants also receive their full welding package—eyes gleaming with excitement.
If you're booking a course at your own location: Only Basic Plus and Premium options are available. However, if you have a large group and specifically want the Basic course, reach out, and we’ll see what we can do!
Why only MIG/MAG? What about TIG welding or stick welding?
The goal of the course day is to be concise, efficient, and purposeful. That’s why the course lasts only one workday – professionals don’t have time to be away from the workshop for weeks on end.
Just in terms of time alone, it wouldn’t make sense to focus on more than one method – we keep the focus tight and don’t let things sprawl.
Besides, very few people ever actually need more than one method, even if they know them all.
Out of these three methods, MIG/MAG welding takes the top spot when weighing versatility, cost, and ease of use, considering various professional fields and applications.
he course content covers welding as a whole, from material preparation, securing workpieces, distortion control to common welding situations.
I dare say that after this course, even picking up a TIG torch will feel much less intimidating.
Is flux-cored welding covered?
No. The course focuses solely on welding with shielding gas.
Do I really get my money back if the teaching is bad?
Yes. The quality guarantee is a real thing, and we stand by our word. Past courses have proven that both the teaching and exercises are effective, efficient, and practical. Feedback from participants has been consistently positive. However, if after the course you feel that the teaching was poor and can justify your opinion, you will get your money back.
Please note that the guarantee applies to the quality of teaching - not to the student’s motivation or ability to learn. It does not mean that every participant will progress at the same rate or make massive leaps forward. Some people learn faster, others slower. However, everyone receives the same high-quality instruction.

Does it feel like too much for one workday?
No worries. This course is designed for regular people, not overachieving robots.
The day is highly hands-on, and all learning happens in the workshop with tools in hand—learning by doing, in other words. The day is sprinkled with only essential theory, meaning that between exercises, we explain what we're doing, how, and why. The exercises are straightforward and easy to grasp.
By the end of the day, participants will have the necessary skills, understanding, and confidence to start welding and continue practicing independently.
Basic Plus and Premium course participants will receive a guidebook based on the course content to take home. It serves as a refresher when practicing independently after the course.
Guidebook
The course day is intensive and packed with new information.
It’s impossible to remember everything, so we’ve created a guidebook for participants to take home.
This 75-page booklet contains all the topics covered during the course day. True to the course style, the text is concise, and there are plenty of images. Available as a traditional physical booklet and in digital PDF format.
The guidebook is included in the Basic Plus and Premium packages.
You can read samples from the articles to get a taste of the workbook's content.
